New Game Recaps

I’m not saying I’ve got it here, but I am saying that SBN is providing the closest thing to the future in game recaps. We all have the box scores to see who got what hit in what inning, but more important are the feelings we have while watching the game.

Last night, watching the Mets game, it was more important to me that Lucas Duda hit a home run in PetCo then it was that Jason Isringhausen got his 300th save. Sure, it’s nice that the former top pitching prospect for the Mets got his landmark save in a Mets uniform, but Duda is more exciting for the future. And hitting a left-handed home run out of PetCo at night is a wonderful thing.

So, you might not get every inning and every pitch from this recap, but hopefully you’ll get a sense of what it was like to watch that game.

I write. About baseball, mostly, but also about the anthropology of sports, travel, cooking and sometimes music. But yeah, baseball mostly.
