Crazlebeans Baseball

Tonight the Cardinals were down to their final strike twice in an elimination game in the World Series. The game wasn’t pretty — both managers made head-scratcher decisions — but some late power from Jeff Spicoli, um David Freese changed everything.

At FanGraphs, we chart the win probability of each team as the game progresses. The Rangers were very likely to win this game, more than once. Each of those dots are events that swung the game. Somewhere on the chart will you see where I was banging my keyboard and spitting out nonsense, yelling at the television screen and receiving texts from my mother, who doesn’t care about baseball all that much, about being kicked out of a restaurant bar for yelling at the TV.

About enosarris

I write. About baseball, mostly, but also about the anthropology of sports, travel, cooking and sometimes music. But yeah, baseball mostly.
