Baseball Flies South

Headed to San Diego tomorrow for a week — first flight with the young one, so wish me luck. In the meantime, I wrote. I wrote about Vladimir Guerrero, who was just released from his contract with the Blue Jays, and I used it to write about the different meanings of the word ‘free’ in baseball. I wrote about Logan Morrison and how he might be primed for a power outburst. I wrote about how FanGraphs: The Game has created an alternate universe that’s so like the current universe that the game must be real. And in the future, I write too — Thursday sometime, on the baseball blog at The Score, this piece will go live about using vertical movement to identify sleeper pitchers. Sink!

Oh and congratulations to Brandon Belt (two home runs in two games), Matt Cain (one of the most perfectest perfectos in the history of baseball), and R.A. Dickey (12 strikeouts, no walks, one hit against the Rays).

About enosarris

I write. About baseball, mostly, but also about the anthropology of sports, travel, cooking and sometimes music. But yeah, baseball mostly.
